Questions frequent at our public dry toilets
How do Sanisphere toilets work without water or electricity?
Sanisphere technology is based on a patented principle for separating solids and liquids. A simple press of a pedal activates a conveyor belt that transports the solids to a vermicomposting area. Liquids are directed to a separate drainage system. This ingenious system, combined with natural ventilation, ensures autonomous and eco-friendly operation.
Are there any odors in the cabins?
No, there’s no smell at all. The design of our toilets creates a natural airflow that draws air from the stall through the bowl, preventing odors from rising. The immediate separation of urine and feces also prevents the formation of ammonia, the main source of unpleasant odors. The odor control is often considered superior to that of traditional flush toilets.
What kind of maintenance is required, and how often?
Maintenance is significantly simplified. Cleaning the cabin is easy (smooth surfaces, no nooks and crannies) and can be done with plenty of water. As for the utility room, the compost only needs to be emptied every 10 to 15 years on average, thanks to the action of microorganisms that reduce the volume of the waste. Sanisphere offers maintenance contracts to give you peace of mind.
Are Sanisphere toilets hygienic and comfortable?
Absolutely. Each cabin is designed to provide optimal comfort, with the following features:
Amenities included: They are clean, modern, and equipped with a hand sanitizer dispenser and paper towels.
User Experience: They work just like a regular toilet, which makes them very intuitive to use.
Visual Cleanliness: The absence of sawdust and a specialized design (including lighting) help conceal the technical components, ensuring a pleasant experience.
Are your facilities accessible to people with limited mobility?
Yes. Most models comply with accessibility standards:
Specific product line: The SANITER line, in particular, is designed to be fully compliant with PMR standards.
Features: The cabins are equipped with grab bars and provide ample space to move around.
Adaptability: Options such as manual pedal operation (instead of foot operation) are available to make the device easier for everyone to use.
Why choose Sanisphere over another dry toilet solution?
Sanisphere stands out for its experience and status:
A pioneer in eco-friendly public restrooms since 1991.
A patented, single-stage, sawdust-free technology.
A SCOP-type company committed to quality, sustainability, and innovation.
Offers a comprehensive solution (from design to maintenance) backed by “Made in France” expertise and ISO 9001 certification.
What happens to urine and solid waste?
The system enables smart wastewater treatment:
Solid materials: They are converted into rich, stable compost directly on site.
Urine: Rich in nutrients, it can be stored for agricultural use (as a natural fertilizer) or managed through controlled infiltration.
All of this contributes to a circular economy.
